Debashish (Dev) Chakravorty

Founder
Debashish (Dev) Chakravorty is the founder of Tookhar Tamasha Arts.

A CPA and CA from USA, Canada and India, in his professional career he has held CFO and senior finance positions. His passion for charity, music, dance and theatre from his childhood days resulted in the formation of the organization. He is now the Marketing and Community outreach Manager for the organization. He is happy to connect with all who share the same passion as that of the organization.

Amit Ghosh

President

Amit Ghosh is a technocrat having experience of more than three decades in business administration, project management, and international business operations. Presently, he is involved in real estate sales and security service business. As a member of the Tookhar Tamasha team, he desires to actively participate in the service of the community.

Devi Chakravarty

Secretary

Devi is an Architect and City Planner by profession and presently works with the Government of Ontario. She actively seeks out opportunities to meaningfully engage Tookhar Tamasha Arts for the benefit of the community.

Asoke Jasu

Vice President

Asoke Jasu is primarily responsible for managing the website, social media activities, brand and event management.

He holds a degree in chemical engineering, has a certification in quality engineering, and a Master of Business Administration with vast industrial experience. He has provided many industries with his consulting services to improve their quality and productivity. 

A dynamic, open-minded, and self-motivated individual, he thrives on driving results and creating value. Currently, he is the owner of two successful businesses: Irresistible Cakes (icakes.ca) and Encore EV Charging Ltd. (EncoreEVcharging.com )

Prakash Shah

Director

I am a retired senior Banker having worked for 35 years with Bank of Baroda in India. Music is my passion & it brought me closer to Tookhar group.
I am an active member of Gujarati Seniors Samaj of Mississauga and have worked as a link between Tookhar & GSSM which has benefited Tookhar to get many new members for activities.

Debolina Mitra

Director

I am a teacher for the past three decades. I have lived and taught in six countries. Even before I started school I was inducted into the classical form of dance, mainly Kathak. I trained for almost forty years and performed in many musical conferences including Festival of India in Bangkok. I am passionate about cooking and indulge in a lot of craftwork. Being interested in performing arts I thought of joining Tookhar and being a part of the events they arrange for the Indian diaspora.

SUMIT GHOSH DASTIDAR

SUMIT GHOSH DASTIDAR is the Treasurer for Tookhar Tamasha Arts.

“A Chartered Accountant by profession holding PG Certificate in Merger and Acquisition & Corporate Finance from IMAA, Switzerland and Wharton respectively, Sumit has worked across continents and held senior positions in Finance & Accounting with large conglomerates and publicly listed companies.

He grew up in a joint family environment in Kolkata, India where music was a part of everyday life and since childhood took great interest in music and performing arts. He was introduced to Tookhar Tamasha Arts a year back and decide to serve the organisation voluntarily to pursue his interest. Since then, he is actively involved in the activities of the organisation with a mission to increase Tookhar’s presence in our community. He is also an avid traveller and enjoys visiting exotic places for pleasure.”

KAVITA SAHAY

Director

Kavita Sahay is a versatile and soulful emerging singer, known for performing Bollywood, folk, and Bengali songs, as well as devotional music in various regional languages. She has released more than 15 original singles, including “A Goiya,” “Kehna Hai (Nagpuri),” and “Tulsi Vivah.” Her music beautifully reflects cultural traditions and devotional themes, with a special focus on Chhath Maiya and the rich heritage of Northeast India.

Kavita’s musical journey began at the age of eight, and during her teenage years she lent her voice to several regional films in Jharkhand. Today, while working as a Senior Manager in an IT firm, she continues to follow her passion wholeheartedly, composing new music and performing across the Greater Toronto Area, Canada.

NEENA VERMA

Director

Neena Verma, Founding Director of Shubh Helping Hands, has been passionate about community service since 2015. After migrating to Canada in 1976, she dedicated herself to supporting seniors and new immigrants through programs promoting mental health, healthy living, and social connection. 

A retired personal banker and TESL instructor, she volunteers teaching English to those facing language barriers. Under her leadership, Shubh Helping Hands has published Journey to Canada and a Healthy Cookbook with senior contributors. She also serves as Director of Kartarpur Charitable Hospital in India and leads Cancer Warriors of Canada, raising cancer awareness. Her mission is to help seniors, newcomers, and youth live with confidence, health, and dignity.

ANURADHA BHUNIA

Director

Anuradha Bhunia has worked as a high school teacher for over 36 years in Mumbai, Lagos Nigeria, and Toronto.
She also held the post of Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Sciences in Lagos, Nigeria.

She is a trained Bharat Natyam dancer, and took part in various cultural events in social events and Durga Puja celebrations. She conducted Science exhibitions, fund raising events, and children’s dance shows in the presence of eminent guests in Lagos. She also taught with ADHD children In Toronto for a few years. Anuradha was an active volunteer in Kalibari and food banks.
She has been organizing entertaining games in Tookhar club picnics since 2 years.
Recently, she has become a board member of Tookhar Tamasha club.
